Elaine has a background in dance, including competitive cheer, ballet, jazz and hip hop. Sadly, her dancing journey ended when she sustained several injuries, but quickly found high intensity pilates to help her through her fitness slump. She found the method to be highly effective yet low impact on her ailing joints.
As a lifelong fitness enthusiast I came upon the Lagree Method in Brooklyn, NY following a knee injury in 2012 and in search of a low impact yet butt kicking workout. I fell in love instantly with every aspect of the method particularly how much stronger I became in my core. Quite honestly, I FOUND my core through this workout. I absolutely love how incredibly challenging it continues to be no matter how many classes I take. It never gets easier and its impossible not to feel accomplished after each and every class. After leaving a career in the medical field in NYC, I moved the Bay Area in 2014 beginning a new adventure as group fitness instructor. At Xcore, I continue to be grateful for the opportunity to assist people as they build their strength from the inside out; which is what the machine is designed to do. Guiding clients through exercises with proper technique, helping people feel stronger and more posturally sound in their bodies (which in turn builds confidence) AND pushing people past their limits while keeping them safe and injury free is such a complete joy for me. Outside the studio, you'll find me on hiking trails, at a beach, exploring other countries and cultures, at live music shows, reading outside with my pup enjoying the CA sunshine or learning as much as I can about wine. I love being active and doing anything adventurous! I’ve been teaching Lagree for about 5 years and love that it never gets boring and continues to be challenging. I’m also very passionate about travel! I recently got back from a 6 month round the world trip with my husband. So if I’m not in the studio, I’m probably planning another adventure (or eating dark chocolate)!
Katrina left her stressful long-term career after having discovered Lagree Fitness in 2015 - she was inspired to pursue a lifestyle of health, fitness, wellness, creativity, and positivity. Since then, she has taught over 300 clients in reformer Pilates based group fitness classes, and is now Xtremely Xcited to transition into teaching her favorite fitness method of all time - Lagree. In her personal fitness journey, she continues to take Lagree at X-CORE, loves Vinyasa Flow Yoga, and is running up mileage to complete her 2nd Full Marathon in October this year. As a born and raised local, she is lovin' to watch community health and fitness evolve throughout the Bay Area. Future health/fitness goals include continued education in Holistic Nutrition and Yoga inversions on the beach. Random personal facts include she is a certified Wedding Planner and her cat's name is Luna aka Petunia, Buka-san, or Bone Thugs & Harmony.
Megan, an East Bay native, has been twisting, pulsing, and activating those slow twitch muscle fibers since 2011. Before finding this method of high intensity pilates, Megan was never a big fan of working out, but as it turns out she just hadn't found the right fitness class yet! After discovering the workout Megan left her corporate marketing job to raise tiny humans and teach others how to move "slow and controlled" through french twists, scrambled eggs, and donkey kicks.
