Day 1: LEARN

  2. Class Intro & Delivery (15 min - Mason)

  3. X-CLIMB Vocabulary (15 min - Mason)

  4. Put it into practice

    • Instructor demo of Intro & Delivery (2 min - Mason)

    • Popcorn moves - trainer points at trainee and they cue the team into a move (15 min)

  5. X-CLIMB Class Structure (15 min - Mason)

  6. Music - Part 1 (1 hour - Franklin)

    • Learning music

      • What is BPM?

      • Why is it important?

      • Put it into practice using BPM app

      • Categorizing music

    • Curating a playlist

      • Song Climb Types

      • Adding Song Climb types to the class structure

  7. Practice

    • Group 1 with Franklin

      • Review pre-class homework

      • Using songs, order them correctly based on the climb types

    • Popcorn moves - trainer points at trainee and they cue the team into a move (15 min)


 

HOMEWORK

  1. Practice your welcome and intro to the class for new clients

  2. Choose an intro song without lyrics to intro the VC

  3. Create a playlist and choreography for songs 1-4 with the right climb song


Day 2:

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

  1. Review Homework - everyone instructs (1 hour - Mason)

    • Welcome and Intro with background song

    • Teach songs 1-4

  2. Practice on the mic and teach off the VC (1 hour - Mason / Sierra)

    • Teach fourth song off the climber and teach a second song that is the trainer’s choice on the VC

  3. Music - Part 2 (Franklin)

    • Find song 5 (handrails) that can be used with a 50 or 100 BPM

    • Teach at the 2 different beats


 

HOMEWORK

  • Finish playlist (songs 5-9) with choreography

  • Start categorizing your music and find 5 songs minimum for each category. If you can, we recommend using Apple iTunes, which allows you to label, categorize and upload songs from Spotify and SoundCloud. If you're sticking with Spotify, use Chelsea's go to tool, Sort Your Music, to quickly find your BPMs.

    • Slow Climb: 70-80 BPM

      Medium Climb: 80-90 BPM

      Fast Climb: 90-110 BPM

      Sprint Climb: 60-75 BPM

      Dance Climb: 60-75 BPM

      Heavy Climb: 40-50 BPM


Day 3:

PRACTICE TEACHING

  1. Practice Teaching

    • Practice teaching songs 8-9

    • Suggestion: have students teach each other’s playlists songs 6-7, and then student teaches their actual choreography to song 6-7

  1. Practice!

  5. Community Classes - when ready, you’ll teach Community classes before you’re put on the schedule
